Effectiveness of psychological capital intervention model on resilience and social adjustment of divorced Turkmen women

Abstract

Aims: The aim of present study was to investigate effectiveness of psychological capital intervention model on resilience and social adjustment of divorced Turkmen women. Method: it was a quasi-experimental with control, experimental group and pretest, posttest, and follow-up was 2 months. The statistical population included all divorced Turkmen women in the first four months of 1398 who had referred to Behravan counseling centers and the new way of life in the city of Gonbad Kavous. Among them 30 people were selected and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 10 sessions of 90 minutes weekly intervention. Both groups completed the Conner-Davidson Resilience scale (Conner & Davidson, 2003) and Social Adjustment Questionnaire (1974) in three stages of pre-test, post-test and follow-up. Results: Data were analyzed using mixed variance repeated measures. Findings showed a significant difference between the performance of the two groups in resilience (F = 8.79, P = 0.006) and social adjustment (F = 5.39, P = 0.028) in the post-test and follow-up stages. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that teaching the psychological capital intervention model is a suitable method to increase resilience and social adjustment of divorced women
