Comparing the effectiveness of play therapy and problem solving training on responsibility, distress tolerance and adaptation of 5-7 year old children

Abstract

Aim: The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing the effectiveness of play therapy and problem solving training on responsibility, distress tolerance and adaptation of 5 to 7 year old children. The group was a witness. The statistical population included all the statistical population of this research, all children aged 5 to 7 years who referred to counseling and psychological clinics in Tehran in both boys and girls groups in the year 1400, with the available sampling method, 45 people were selected and They were randomly divided into two intervention groups and a control group using game therapy and problem solving training and a control group. The research tools included responsibility questionnaire (California, 1951), distress tolerance (Simmons and Gaher, 2005) and adaptability (Matson, 1983). Findings: Game therapy and problem solving training were significantly effective on responsibility, distress tolerance and adaptation (P<0.05) of the subject group. The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance and analysis of variance with repeated measures to remove the pre-test effect using spss software. Conclusion: As a result, according to the results obtained from the present study, it is suggested that play therapy and problem solving training should be used to increase responsibility, adaptability and reduce distress tolerance in 5-7 year old children.
