Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of imagotherapy couple therapy training on improving communication skills, conflict resolution and sensitivity to rejection of couples referred to counseling centers in Masjed Soleiman city. The method of this research was quasi-experimental with pre-test design, post-test with control and follow-up groups. The statistical population of this study included all couples who referred to Masjed Soleiman counseling centers in 1398. Among the counseling centers of Masjed Soleiman city, 20 couples (40 people) were randomly assigned to these centers in the form of two experimental and control groups (10 couples for each group). The experimental groups were trained for 10 sessions of 2 hours, but the control group did not receive training. In order to collect research data, Quindam (2004) Communication Skills Questionnaire, Zaker et al. (2007) Standard Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire and Downey and Feldman (1996) Marital Conflict Questionnaire were used. Multivariate repeated measures analysis of variance was used to analyze the research data. The results of the analysis of research findings showed that image therapy is effective on the variables of communication skills, conflict resolution and susceptibility to couples (P <0.05). According to the findings of this study, it can be said that imagotherapy training is one of the effective methods to improve communication skills, conflict resolution and sensitivity to couple rejection.
